Four by Four continue to work hard to raise funds for
worthwhile causes. In 2001, Four by Four raised over £4000.00
for the British Red Cross Indian Earthquake Appeal and the
BBC Children in Need Appeal.
In the past few months the members of Four by Four Bhangra
Youth club have enjoyed a number of day trips to places
of interest including the House of Commons, Madame Tussauds,
Chessington World of Adventure, Tenpin Bowling and the
local Christmas Pantomime. These trips were partly funded
by the Children's Fund.
Four by Four have been working in partnership with Reading
Borough Council and the Reading Indian Community Association,
and run bhangra and dhol lessons every Saturday at the Indian
Community Centre, in Norris Road, Reading between 10.30am
and 12pm. Admission is free. New members are always welcome.
Members of Four by Four are members of a number of local
community committees including the executive of the North
West Kent Racial Equality Council, the Police Liaison Committee,
The Fire Brigade Liaison Group, KCC Cultural Diversity Group
and Gravesham Youth Club Association. Four by Four feel
it is important to play a full and active role within the
local community, put forward the views of the ethnic minority
community, especially the youth.
